The start of the season for the three professional sports clubs sponsored by the RAMPF Group is finally upon us. We are looking forward to top-class handball by TUSSIES Metzingen and HBW Balingen-Weilstetten as well as first-class basketball by Tigers Tübingen!

One should never be satisfied with the status quo. As we all know, standing still is a step backwards.

But in view of the upcoming handball and basketball season, we are going to go out on a limb – it does not get any better than this!

Why?

Because the professional clubs sponsored by RAMPF will all be chasing points in the top leagues!

While first-class status is almost a matter of course for the ladies of the TuS Metzingen handball team, the men from the HBW Balingen-Weilstetten handball team, the “Gauls”, and the Tigers Tübingen basketball team still played in the second division last season.

So – what do the TUSSIES, Gauls, and Tigers have planned for the coming season?

TUSSIES Metzingen

TUSSIES Metzingen will start the 2023/24 Handball Bundesliga season on September 9 with an away game against Sport-Union Neckarsulm. Already on September 2, the team will travel to Bühl for the first round of the cup competition against SG Kappelwindeck/Steinbach.

TUSSIES Managing Director Ferenc Rott:

We want to inspire our fans by playing fast handball with enthusiasm and passion. At this point in time, we can’t really set a clear target for the season as we have three new back players who will certainly need some time to settle into our system. However, we want to position ourselves in the top third of the table, and qualifying for the international competition again would be a dream come true. Whether we can achieve that remains to be seen – but with our loyal fans we will definitely make full use of our home advantage in the Öschhalle!

HBW Balingen-Weilstetten

HBW Balingen-Weilstetten will start the 2023/24 Liqui Moly Handball Bundesliga season on August 27 with a home game against THW Kiel.

HBW Managing Director Felix König:

After an outstanding 2022/23 season in which we won the championship in the Second Handball Bundesliga, we are delighted to be back in the 'strongest league in the world'. In order to stay in the top tier, we have to leave at least one established Bundesliga team behind us in the points table. That’s going to be a big challenge – and that's why we have to give everything we've got in every game!

Tigers Tübingen

Tigers Tübingen will kick off the 2023/24 easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga season on September 28 with an away game against the Telekom Baskets Bonn. Already on September 23, BB Löwen Braunschweig will come to Tübingen’s Paul Horn Arena for the first round of the cup competition.

Tigers Tübingen General Manager Jascha Maus:

The 2023/24 season and the return to the Beletage of German basketball will be a huge adventure for our club and region. Our role will, of course, change significantly compared to the past two years – we will start the upcoming season as an underdog and want to compete against the big names from Munich, Berlin etc. If we take the energy of our spectators into every game, we can meet this challenge and consolidate our place in the league!

Exciting JOBS, future-oriented training and studies programs, attractive benefits, mutual respect and appreciation – we support our employees, trainees, and students in bringing out the very best in themselves!
