Sustainability at RAMPF
For the Environment. For Future Generations.
Sustainability at RAMPF is not a trend. It is a tradition. Our company founder championed environmental protection – by developing the world’s first polyurethane board that replaced tropical hardwood in the tooling industry. As a family-owned company, we think in generations and act accordingly: ecologically, economically, and socially responsible. Together with our customers and partners, we develop solutions that conserve resources and protect the environment.
Our commitment: Sustainability, innovation, and progress – for a future worth living.

Environmental and Energy Management System
Responsibility for the environment and resources are firmly anchored in our actions. At our sites in Grafenberg and Zimmern ob Rottweil, an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001 provides a structured framework for identifying, evaluating, and continuously reducing our environmental impact.
Building on this, our energy management system according to ISO 50001 – implemented at all German sites – aims to systematically reduce energy consumption, lower emissions, and continuously increase the share of renewable energy. To achieve this, we continuously analyze our energy usage and derive targeted optimization measures.
When it comes to energy, sustainable action is not merely a commitment – it is a guiding principle of everything we do. Rising costs, scarce resources, and above all our responsibility toward future generations motivate us to use energy intelligently. At RAMPF, everyone works together toward the same goal.

Chemical recycling and circular economy
Pioneering Work for a Resource-Conserving Future
Since 1992, RAMPF has been one of the pioneers in the chemical recycling of polyurethane. We process production scrap, waste, and end-of-life products into high-quality recycled polyols – a true secondary resource for new applications. With our expertise, we also develop customized recycling systems that can be operated directly on-site. This enables effective circular processes with reduced CO₂ emissions and lower raw material consumption.
Sustainable Product Development
Less is More – Through Recycling and Efficiency
Our products are created with both the environment and the future in mind. The share of recycled polyols in our polyurethane boards already reaches up to 30%. Existing processes are continuously improved, while new products are developed sustainably. With our continuous improvement process (CIP) across all areas, we make our production more efficient and sustainable.
Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection
Green electricity, photovoltaics, and intelligent energy use
At our German sites, we use green electricity and operate our own photovoltaic and solar thermal systems. We also use geothermal energy. In addition, we continuously optimize our energy usage through intelligent control and monitoring solutions to increase transparency and target efficiency potentials. This reduces emissions, strengthens our energy independence, and ensures future-proof operations.
Bio-Based Raw Materials and New Technologies
Sustainable chemistry – smart and innovative
We use renewable raw materials such as vegetable oils to produce alternative polyols. Our research goes even further: with a new technology, non-homogeneous waste streams can also be utilized in the future, amongst others for insulation materials or oil binders. This substantially improves resource conservation and reduces the need for incineration as a disposal route.
Mineral Casting and CO₂ Reduction
Cold-cast – for maximum environmental friendliness
Our machine bases made of mineral casting and ultra-high-performance concrete are manufactured at room temperature – saving up to 75% primary energy and reducing CO₂ emissions by a factor of 4.5 compared to gray cast iron. Thanks to precise molding technology, additional machining, transport, and equipment-intensive processes are eliminated. For fillers, we also use environmentally friendly alternatives such as limestone powder instead of coal fly ash.
E-Mobility and Future Technologies
RAMPF – an enabler of sustainable mobility transition
With our comprehensive service portfolio, we support electromobility manufacturers – from innovative materials and precise dispensing technology to complete production systems. We shape the mobility of tomorrow and contribute to reducing fossil fuel dependency.
Responsibility for Employees
Social dialogue, occupational health and safety, and sustainable thinking
At RAMPF, people come first. We are doers, thinkers, and hands‑on innovators. Our collaboration is shaped by RAMPF’s values and individual development opportunities. Health management, work-life balance, and continued education: we care for our employees.
Our occupational health and safety concept considers technical, organizational, and personal aspects to ensure maximum safety. At our Grafenberg site, our occupational health and safety management system is certified according to ISO 45001.
Regular workshops strengthen employee awareness – sustainability is lived daily, not just planned.
