Ultra-precise measuring technology requires ultra-strong demonstration objects. That is why GOM GmbH, a leading manufacturer of optical 3D metrology systems, chose RAKU® TOOL WB-0801 to demonstrate the performance of its measuring systems used for quality assurance in foundries.

The Board Material WB-0801 had to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Highly accurate model
  • Detailed and easy to mill

The pattern plate is used for the production of a valve housing in sand casting. As part of the process chain, it shows the use of GOM metrology systems for consistent quality assurance in foundries.

The production process in three steps:

1. Direct milling of pattern plate

2. Finishing of pattern plate

3. Laminar measuring with optical 3D metrology system
