Open time

In bonding, open time refers to the time available between the application of the adhesive and the bonding of the composite parts. In order to achieve good adhesion, they must be bonded within the open time. If bonding does not occur within the given time frame, the glued end product will be faulty. The wetting of the substarte is an important prerequisite for a durable bond.
