Heat deflection temperature

The heat deflection temperature is  used to evaluate the temperature resistance of plastics. Test specimens are examined under specified stress conditions in order to determine to what extent they maintain their shape at specific temperatures. The testing method for heat deflection temperature is defined by standardized test methods.
