Tensile strength

The tensile strength indicates the maximum mechanical tensile stress that a material can withstand. The tensile strength is calculated by testing the material’s strength characteristics. The material fails as soon as the tensile strength, i.e. the maximum mechanical tensile stress, is exceeded.
