Stunning concept car Fast Eddy / Innovative composites solutions for the aerospace and medical industries

Grafenberg, December 01, 2017. Cutting-edge modeling and mold engineering materials as well as composites design, engineering, and manufacture capabilities are the focus of the international RAMPF Group’s presentation at CAMX 2017 from December 12 - 14 in Orlando, Florida – Booth F2.

RAMPF Group, Inc. – PU and epoxy resin materials for modeling and mold engineering

RAMPF Group, Inc., the North American subsidiary of the international RAMPF Group, is a leading supplier of customized tooling solutions for cost-effective and high-quality model, mold, and tool construction for the automotive, marine, and aviation industries.

The company’s portfolio includes styling, modeling, and working board materials; Close Contour Pastes, Close Contour Casting, and Close Contour Blocks; and systems for the composites industry that cover a wide variety of production processes and a broad range of temperatures.

The highlight at this year’s Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX) is the concept car Fast Eddy, designed and produced by the Aria Group based in California. The use of RAMPF’s RAKU® TOOL Close Contour Paste CP-6070 / 6072 guaranteed for a high-quality, cost-effective, and fast model-making process.

The epoxy paste was applied to a supporting structure made from RAMPF’s polyurethane board RAKU® TOOL SB-0096*, cured, and then machined according to CAD data.

RAKU® TOOL 6070 / 6072 – the advantages:

  • Excellent surface quality, seamless
  • Good dimensional stability
  • Easy to machine, low dust
  • Low exotherm, can be applied over a large area in one step
  • Cure 14 h at 25 C°
  • Withstands abusive environment (transport etc.)

RAKU® TOOL SB-0096* polyurethane board for styling & design – the advantages:

  • Very good surface structure
  • Easily machined
  • Good heat resistance
  • Resistant to organic solvents

Due to the close contour shape of the model, less material was used, milling was quick and easy, and less waste was generated. For all pastes there is a matching repair system available, and all paints in line with industry standards are applicable.

For processing RAKU® TOOL Close Contour Paste, Tartler machines are strongly recommended for the US market. RAMPF Group, Inc. also offers customers a Close Contour Paste application service as well as comprehensive technical support by its experienced technicians.

*RAKU® TOOL SB-0096 is only available in the NAFTA region; in Europe, RAKU® TOOL SB-0080 can be used instead.

RAMPF Composite Solutions – design, engineering, and manufacture of composites parts for the aerospace and medical industries
